Nobel Prize for Parasite Researchers
The PARAGONE participants were delighted to see that a Nobel prize had been awarded to the discoverers of Ivermectin.
William C. Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura discovered the new drug, Avermectin. Ivermectin, a derivative of this drug, has radically lowered the incidence of River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis, as well as showing efficacy against an expanding number of other parasitic diseases
